The Pain Clinic was founded by a Consultant
Anaesthetist, who is also a Pain Specialist and by a Consultant
Nurse who specialises in all areas of pain management. Between them
they have over 30 years of experience in this field and are dedicated
to providing excellent care to patients and their families. They
are both fully involved with The Pain Clinic.
The Pain Clinic’s team also includes other qualified professionals
who are determined that the treatment and control of pain should
be high on the agenda of Health Care Professionals and both National
and Local Government.
The team is made up of:
Consultant Doctors
Consultant Nurse
Nurses
Physiotherapists
Pharmacists
Psychotherapists
Counsellors
Complementary Therapists, with nursing backgrounds
Paramedics
The founders have worked in the National Health Service and the
Private sector and have wealth of practical and academic experience
together with in-depth knowledge of acute and chronic pain. Their
philosophy is to be receptive to conventional treatments as well
as emerging technologies and they also believe that complementary
therapies can help many people in pain. The Founders’ experience
has demonstrated that many patients respond differently to identical
treatments and medications. The close relationship between the Pain
Clinic Team and its' patients has been shown to be therapeutic and
condusive to a more satisfactory outcome.
“We believe that the relief of pain should be a fundamental
objective of any health service.”
